Doll Assembling
Hi guys, I had a question for all of you, doll makers and collectors. Do you prefer to have your dolls in a fixed position or flexible, able to be posed?
Here is my opinion and common practice: I think the dolls look more real in a permanent position and this is because the fabric is set to look like gravity has an effect and the arms are in natural positions. So I will actually sew the arms down into position. On some of my dolls the arms can be slightly posed but they are mainly fixed. That said, I do like pose able dolls, but only the ball jointed ones. They seem to be able to strike a more natural pose and are durable enough to withstand manipulation. What do you guys think?
